Seven is Heaven

Yesterday was Rebecca's 7th birthday!!

She has been counting down the days on the calendar in her room and when I woke her up, she
said " I am finally seven!"

I let her open one gift before school and my parents called to sing happy birthday.  Later,
Abuela and I went to school to have lunch with Rebecca and we passed out cookies
to her classmates.
We told the girls that we were going out to eat in Atlanta to celebrate, but that is all we
told them.... we had tickets to go see the Cirque du Soleil Show.
We had dinner at California Pizza. We brought along all the gifts  and
I also had cupcakes for dessert.
We stopped to take a few pictures with the beautiful flowers. Atlantic
Station was looking so pretty as we walked to the show.
We made it to the tent! The girls were so excited. As usual, the show was
amazing and we had a great time.
We had a late night out, but it was worth it and I think that Rebecca had a
memorable and fun 7th birthday!

Easter Weekend 2016

We had a busy weekend. First we went to see Rebecca play soccer, and it rained on and off the entire game.  I was happy to get home and warm up.  I am over the wintery and rainy days. The girls helped me to fill up a bunch of Easter eggs for a hunt.
In the afternoon we went to a birthday party for Gigi and Gabby.  It was at a local bowling alley place and the girls had the best time.
Rebecca and I played laser tag for the first time and my Dad played too.  We did arcade games, bowling, and ate all sorts of treats.  It was late when we got home, so after showers, we finally got around to coloring Easter eggs.
Easter baskets for the girls.
Rebecca woke up at 7 and declared it was time to get Rachel and search for eggs and baskets.
We went to church and then my parents and our friends came over for lunch.
Delrika and my Dad both wore bow ties.
I love these cute bunny plates. I saw them and had to buy them.  I loved the bunny with
a bow tie because it reminded me of my Dad.
The girls.
Raphael planned out an elaborate Easter egg hunt for the girls. They had
to work together to solve clues and do activities. It was fun.
Gabby, Gigi, Rachel and Rebecca.
It was Gabby's 8th birthday, so we celebrated her special day!
Most importantly, we celebrated Jesus who died for our sins and rose again.

Girls Day Out at Ameican Girl

A few years ago, when Rachel turned nine, my parents came to visit and we took Rachel to the American Girl store and she picked out her very own doll.  This past week, it was Rebecca's turn!
Our weekends are pretty busy and the mall gets crazy on Saturdays, so my Mom and I decided to
take Rebecca on a nice quiet weekday. I didn't tell her about it, we went to school and surprised her.
The store has so many dolls and accessories, it is pretty amazing and overwhelming.
We did a lot of looking and tried to find a doll that looked like Rebecca.
A picture op with Lea, who is the American Girl doll of the year.
She found the one she wanted!
We looked at accessories and clothes for awhile. How about a horse?
We snapped a few pictures outside the store. Rebecca wasn't too sure what to name her doll, but I think she is going with Savannah. The doll has blue eyes and curly blond hair just like Rebecca.
We went out for lunch at Fuddruckers and then headed home. It was a great day and Rebecca
has been loving on her doll. Thank you Nana for a special day!!

Life Lately

Once again, I am behind on posting, so trying to catch up a little before I forget everything.........

The girls had a day off from school, so we headed over to Pringle Park and played for awhile. It
is one of our favorite parks and we try to get there a few times a year.
Rebecca is taking swimming lessons.
St. Patrick's Day shirts
Rebecca won the " quiet seat " prize from Brother Billy at AWANA and she
was so excited and I was happy for her.
I went to Rachel's school for Muffins with Mom. They played a few trivia games
and we won!
A visit to the dentist. They always leave with a balloon.
We have had some incredible sunrises and sunsets lately, It's hard to capture the beauty.
At school, Rebecca had to draw herself as a minion.  I love this! So cute!!

Lego Friends

This past Saturday, we had a few of Rebecca's friends come over to celebrate her 7th birthday.  Rebecca's birthday is a tricky one, because it is generally close to Easter and spring break, there are a lot of other parties and events happening, plus sports,.... so I generally move her "friends" party up a few weeks.

Since last summer, the girls have loved playing with their Lego Friends and we have quite the collection. So it seemed liked a logical idea to have a Lego themed party for Rebecca and she loved the idea.  I got to work on the decorations on Friday afternoon.   I found the glitter letters and flowers at Walmart and just stuck them on the front door.
She was so excited to have her friends coming over to celebrate and play Legos.
I looked all over the Internet and Pinterest for Lego Friends party ideas. As popular as Legos are, there was very little actual Lego Friends party stuff to buy, so I just did my own thing.
I went with pink and purple for the main colors and I had a little Lego outline the I found online made into a big poster and then colored in to make a Lego girl.

I have learned over the years, to keep it simple. So we did a couple of little games-- first was a contest to see who could build the tallest Lego tower.
I cut out Lego man shapes and hid them around the house, then the girls played " I spy the Lego guy".
It turned out to be their favorite activity :)
We also played "pin the hairbow on the Lego girl"... always a fun game to play.
It is entertaining to listen to their conversations .
Rebecca requested a sugar cookie with sprinkles instead of a cake, so that is what we did.  I also had a few other snacks and ice cream for everyone.
                                                           Group picture time!
Gigi, Rebecca, Rebecca, Brianna, Layla and Gabby
Opened the gifts and then the girls played until parents came back.
I can't  believe that Rebecca will be seven in a few days! We are planning a good surprise for her actual birthday, can't wait!!
