Trick or Treat!

Our little bumblebee!

Tonight was the first Halloween that Rachel actually went trick or treating.  She was so excited and couldn't wait to go to her friends' houses and a really "spooky" house in the neighborhood.  Rebecca and I stayed home and handed out candy.

At the spooky house!

Back home and counting up her candy-120 pieces!

Our little pumpkin- she kept pointing at the shirt and saying "apple"

Afternoon at Mulberry School

This morning I took the girls to Little Mulberry Park and ran into one of my MOMS club friends. She mentioned that her daughter's school was having a carnival in the afternoon.  So we came home for Rebecca's nap and then headed over to the school.  The girls had a great time, the carnival was lots of fun and we saw many of our friends.

Rachel was a winner at the cake walk!

Rebecca enjoying Rachel's snocone- it was empty, but Rebecca thought she was something special. She carried it around for along time.

Fishing booth- guaranteed a prize! Rachel went to this one several times.

Rebecca trying out a lollipop.

Perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Going for a Drive

A couple of weeks ago, I went on a website that our church has where you can advertise items for sale, looking for a job, babysitting services, etc......  And I happened across an ad that was for a Barbie Jeep.
It said the jeep was "well loved" and a bit faded from the sun, but worked great.  And it the price was right- FREE !!! So I talked with the guy on the phone and Raphael went to pick it up.  We didn't tell Rachel about it - just let her find it in the garage. She was SO excited!

It is too funny to watch her drive and the crazy driving she does.

Rebecca loves going for rides. And Raphael made a seatbelt for them, so hopefully no one will fall out.

Not sure it if will survive until Rebecca is old enough to drive it herself, but the girls are having a lot of fun with it.

The Past Few Days

We have been keeping busy around here. Just a few photos of the Tomlin girls and their activities.

Wednesday:   I made a deal with Rachel, that if she read fifteeen books on a list from her teacher, we would go to Build a Bear for a new friend.  And she read her books and we now have a cute little rabbit.

Thursday:   After school we went to the same pumpkin patch as last year.  The girls loaded up the wagon with pumpkins and ran around for awhile. It was fun to go back and have Rebecca walking and "helping" this year.

 This year and last year

Friday:  Rachel had an assembly at school to honor all the students with good report cards. Rachel was the first name to be called. We are proud of Rachel for doing well at school!

It is tough getting a good picture at the school events- the best I could do.

Saturday:  Raphael was busy running errands, so the girls and I stayed home. We I did lots of laundry, ate lots of snacks and played in the backyard.

The girls kept busy with the garden hose and making mud pies- I was planting some flowers for fall in the yard.

And we found a new friend!

An Apple A Day...

This past weekend we took the girls to Hillcrest Orchards for some apple picking fun. It was a beautiful fall day and the place was packed with people.  They have lots to do- apple picking, petting zoo, hayrides, John Deere mini tractor races, pig races, moonshine museum, etc....  We had a lot of fun and hope to go back again next year.

Rachel loved all the baby animals

Lots of apples to pick from

And a big thank you to Jennisa at for giving my blog a new look- I love it!
