Dolphin Tales

This morning Rebecca and I met some friends at the aquarium.  Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded and we had a nice time looking at the fish.
She was looking for Nemo and Dori.  We went to the 3D movie and Rebecca loved it! But decided not to wear her glasses.
An albino alligator. He was resting and all of sudden hit his tail against the glass and scared us to  death! And there were some cute little river otters too.
Last year the aquarium opened a dolphin exhibit and show. The show was good and  the dolphins were amazing-really smart animals. No cameras allowed in the show, but the tank is huge and over thirty feet deep.
This picture was as close to the dolphins we were able to get-ha!

They have a special exhibit with hundreds of frogs right now. We walked through on our way out and Rebecca was ready to go, so I didn't get to see as much as I would have liked to. I thought these two were cute.
                                                                    Love the seahorses!

Then and Now

A few weeks ago, I met my friend Ashley for coffee one morning. We both have two girls and she gave me some clothes that her girls have outgrown or don't want anymore.  One of the items was a cute vest, and it reminded me of another time Rachel had worn something similar. So I thought it would be fun to see Rachel then and now.

Whirly Pop

Rachel found out that today was "National Popcorn Day" and decided that we needed to make some popcorn for an after school snack.  For Christmas this year we got a new popcorn popper--a Whirly Pop. It makes the best popcorn .

Rachel has a busy and good week. Yesterday she won a camera in a contest at school. They interviewed her for the school T.V. station and she was on the news at school today. She was so excited and proud of herself.  And today she finally lost a tooth that has been loose for the longest time.

                                                Looking forward to the weekend!

Catch Air

Today the girls were out of school for MLK Jr. Day, so we went to a new indoor playground place called Catch Air with my MOMS club. I knew it would be busy with kids out of school and there were hundreds of kids there. It was a bit crazy at times,  but the girls had fun and burned up a lot of energy. I would like to go back on a less busy day- I think Rebecca would have more fun.

Rachel on a merry-go-round type of ride. You hop on and sit on top of the ball and it swings you all around. I saw some little kids take major falls and get hit trying to hop on by themselves. Rebecca tried it and didn't like it, but Rachel seemed to like it.

Three story fun house with slides and ball pit and tunnels. The girls spent most of their time in there.

Meghan, Becca and Rachel on a huge inflatable rocking horse kind of ride. I had never seen something like this before and looked fun.

the girls loved these big cups that wobble and move around.

Riding on the elephant scooters.

Rebecca on carousel for little ones. Love her rosy cheeks! They played so hard and it was really warm inside with all the people. Rebecca did a good job at keeping up with her big sister and friends. I am thankful she is old enough to play and get to enjoy fun places with Rachel.

Krispy Kreme

This morning Rebecca and I made a visit to Krispy Kreme for a donut or two. Rachel had "donuts with Dad" at school on Friday and Rebecca wanted a donut of her own.

Rebecca ate two donuts! And told me the sprinkle donut was her favorite. She loved watching the donut making machine and assembly line. It was a good morning with my little girl.

Random Pictures

The girls are back to school and all the Christmas has been packed away for another year. I had a ton of pictures in the camera that I needed to transfer to the computer and thought I would post a few to show what we have been up to lately.

I made the girls these aprons and they turned out pretty cute. I bought plain aprons at Hobby Lobby and used an iron transfer design to decorate the front.

Rebecca loves Angry Birds and  to wear a Band-Aid. I told her Band-Aids don't usually go on your forehead, but she didn't care. God bless her. And me.

We made snowman pictures with mini marshmallows. Rebecca ate her weight in marshmallows.

We made a visit to the children's museum in Atlanta. They had a "fairy tale theme " and all sorts of different displays and exhibits. The girls in Cinderella's pumpkin coach.

Flying a kite.

                                                                        Magic rocks.

Last Friday Rachel got an award for honor roll and for best science student in second grade.

Ringing in the New Year

We spent New Year's Eve at home with the girls the year. Plans to celebrate with friends didn't work out, but we had our own little party and it was fun. Rachel and Rebecca were exctied about the party hats and party horns and getting to eat lots of junk food!

This was the best picture we could get. Rebecca didn't want to be in the picture and then wouldn't put down the party horn. It is nice that the girls are getting older, can stay up a little later and starting to understand about celebrating different holidays.

We ate alot of snack type foods and then went out for a little firework show that Raphael put on for us.

Can you see their excitement about the fireworks? Rachel was wanting some Fourth-of-July kind, but ours came from Walmart, so can't expect too much.

Rebecca went to bed after the show and we played some games and ate more snacks. Rachel stayed up till about ten or so.  Raphael and I watched different celebrations on T.V. and managed to make until midnight!

The Year in Pictures 2011

Happy New Year!! We had a little New Year's Eve party with the girls last night and it was a lot of fun.  The year 2011 was a good one for our family and are thankful for all the good times and blessings the Lord has given us. Last year I made a collage of pictures to help remember 2010 and decided to try it again this year. ( can click on the photo to make it bigger)
