10 Months

Miss Rebecca is ten months old today! I still can't believe that the time has gone by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny, sweet little newborn.
Right now Rebecca's favorite food seems to be blueberries. She eats them by the handfuls. She seems to like just about any food and has a great appetite.

Rebecca still weighs twenty pounds
She likes to play "peek-a-boo"
She will wave "hello/good-bye" when she feels like it
She can make the sign for "more"
Rebecca loves to talk and babble- she has said "momma" and "dadda" a few times
She enjoys going for walks in her stroller
She is still crawling, but trying really hard to walk on her own.
LOVES to take a bath and splash water everywhere!

We love you Rebecca!

Bandaids and the Dentist

This has been a crazy busy week. Today, Rebecca and I stayed home and tried to get some work done. The heater repair guy came in the morning and I did lots of cleaning, cooking, laundrying, playing with baby.  Rebecca was so happy today and just in the best mood. She played alot by herself and practiced walking with her little stroller quite a bit. She also kept trying to climb up the stairs, so it will soon be time to bring out the baby gates again.  Rebecca was playing under her high chair and figured out that she could push it. She spent a good hour moving it all around the kitchen-so cute.

Later in the day, I noticed her fingers were red and looked a little closer. She had two little cuts on her fingers. I have no idea how they got there, and she never cried. So I attempted my best to get some bandaids on them until they quit bleeding. Rebecca was not happy about the bandaids and kept trying to peel them off.

Her little Nemo bandaids.

Rebecca and I went to pick Rachel up from the bus stop and headed over to the dentist. Rachel was due for a checkup and cleaning. She has gone several times before without any problems. Today she had some tears. She didn't want to go, she was scared. Thankfully it takes awhile to get there, and by then she had calmed down. She went back by herself(per the dentist's request) and she did great! No cavities, her teeth look good. She was happy and got a new toothbrush and some stickers too.

Afterwards Rachel wanted to go to Wendy's for dinner "to help cheer me up". So we went and she enjoyed her frosty. When we came home, she wanted a picture in her zebra dress. The girl loves her animal prints!

Her "cheerleader/fashion model" pose.

Miss Rebecca is crying- so I better go check!

100 days

This week at school Rachel and her classmates are celebrating the 100th day of school. I don't remember celebrating that when I was in school, but I guess times change. They are doing all sorts of activities that include the number one hundred. Rachel seems to be having lots of fun. She had to make a picture using 100 of anything, she made a "picture" with foam stickers. She started the project off strong and focused, but quickly got distracted and overwhelmed. That is how it goes with a five year old.  She came home with a cute little hat to celebrate.

Today after school, we went with my MOMS club to a local pizza parlor-Mellow Mushroom.

They have really good pizza and we haven't been there for awhile. We all had a tour of the kitchen and then each child got to make their own pizza. Rachel did a pretty good job making her pizza pie and even put pepperoni on it!

I tried getting her picture with the finished product, but she was too busy eating and talking with her friends for anymore photos.

Catching Up

Well, the past few days have been a little bit crazy around here.  On Thursday afternoon Raphael came home from his trip. Yeah! We were all excited to have him home. Much later that evening, Rachel woke up and said she was sick- and she was. And then so was I. And then repeat that for most of the night. It was not fun. Poor little Rachel, I just felt so bad for her. Praise the Lord, that Raphael was home and helped me survive through the night. I know I could have done it alone, but so glad that I didn't have too. By Friday morning, Rachel was feeling better, but I kept her home from school just to make sure.

Raphael stayed home too and let me recuperate.I am soooo thankful he was able to be with us and he helped so much.  He took Lola in for her bath and took Rebecca to her nine month checkup.  Our Rebecca did great at the doctor's appointment.  She is still weighing in at 20lbs. She seems to be holding steady in the weight department. And she is now 27and 1/4" long. Poor thing had to get three shots! Raphael said all the nurses thought she was the cutest little baby and just loved her curly hair and blue eyes.

By Saturday, we were all feeling alot better. Raphael had to work for awhile, so the girls and I ventured out to Toys R Us. I had just bought Rachel a new stuffed animal cat on Monday. Well, he didn't do to well during the night of sickness and had to be thrown away. So we went to the toy store and got the exact same cat- and the last one they had! So then, all was right with the world once more.

Yesterday, we made it to church and then home for the afternoon. It was a super rainy day and it was nice to stay inside. Rachel and I played and watched movies, while Raphael made a new video for us. I tried to catch back up on the laundry and other little things around the house.

Today, I took Rebecca to the mall for her "official" nine month photos. She did great! She did keep trying to crawl away, so they had to work fast. The pictures turned out really cute too. They took her picture in the studio that is in the front of the store, and has a big glass wall that faces into the mall. So lots of shoppers were stopping to check out Rebecca. She was really charming them!

A few pics of our girls for you!

This is a busy week for us-lots going on. So I should be back with more pictures tomorrow!

Long Weekend

This has been a long weekend for Rachel-no school today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday, Raphael had a training session all day, so the girls and I stayed home. We had a really nice teenage girl from church come over for awhile. She wants to start babysitting, but has no experience- so she came to our house for a few hours and played with the girls, changed diapers,etc... Rachel loved her and I think Rebecca did too. Hopefully, she will be a good sitter for us. Then Saturday night we had our Family Movie Night- Rachel picked Polar Express in 3D.

Looking  good!

I love this of Lola begging for popcorn-ha!

On Sunday we went to church, and then Raphael stayed with the girls and I did a little shopping.
Today, the girls and I went out to Walmart for a few things. They were both really good at the store, and when we got home I put Rebecca down for a nap. The weather today was beautiful, so Rachel played in the yard and I cleaned and organized the garage.

Some pictures of what Rebecca was up to today. She is so curious and quick these days. She can really move fast and manages to get into lots of mischief.

Raiding the pantry

Playing in the dog's water!

She can stand by herself a little more each day. This time for about a minute.

And "walking" with her push-along baby stroller- so cute.

I saw this exact toy at Walmart today for $27 dollars. I bought it last week at a consignment store for $7! I love a good bargain.

Rachel got this cat at Walmart today. She wanted a similar one for Christmas, but I didn't buy it. Today, it was on clearance so I broke down I got it for her. She was so happy.

This and That

Rachel and her Dad just left for Bingo night at  her school. She is really excited to go and I hope she has a fun time. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some pictures of her to share. Miss Rebecca is sound asleep and I plan to watch a movie right after I finish this. Not much happening around here this week. So just a few pictures of the girls.

Wednesday was "cowboy" night at AWANA

Report Card and Monkey Joes

Last Friday Rachel was supposed to get her report card, but it "snowed" and school was cancelled. So she got it yesterday instead. She did great- all satisfactories and excellents! The principal came to the class and handed out certificate/awards to the kids. Every child got at least one for working hard or being a good listener,etc... Rachel was the big winner in her class- she received four! I have to brag a little, I was happily surprised and so proud of her. She ended up with the principal award, acheivement award, the "specials" award for music(she was chosen out of all the kindergarten kids, about a hundred of them), and the good citizen award(the only one in her class). She was so excited and proud of herself.

Getting her awards from principal, Mrs. Torbush

Then today after school we were supposed to going bowling with some of my MOMS club friends, but it was cancelled. Rachel has been asking for a long time to go to Monkey Joes, so we went. She had a lot of fun and burned some energy. Rebecca had fun too- she pushed the stroller all around. So cute- I think she will be walking soon!

What a Difference a Year Makes

Last year this weekend,  we were heading back from our Disney World vacation. It was our last trip as a family of three. We had a wonderful time with Rachel and it was fun seeing her have so much fun at Disney.

We are blessed to now be a family of four!

He has done great things for us and we are filled with joy.

Snow Day!

Yesterday afternoon is started "snowing" around here. In the South, they make a BIG deal out of the littlest bit of snow. Some parts did get an inch or two and really icy roads. In our little neighborhood, we had about a centimeter? maybe? Not much at all, but enough to cancel school for the day.

Rachel was so excited to get outside, so once Rebecca was down for her morning nap, we headed out to the backyard. Rachel had fun, I took pictures, and then inside for hot chocolate. Other than that, we had a good day. Just trying to keep busy and have fun with the girls.
