Fall Festival Fun

There is no shortage of pumpkin patches and fall festivals around here this time of year, and we have been to a few of them lately. The girls love them and always have fun.
All together!
We stopped by a local church for awhile- lots of games and candy.
 Rebecca and the Chick-fil-A cow.
We spent some time at our neighborhood's party.
This rabbit was crazy fluffy- it was a little scary.
Rebecca joined in on the dance contest. It is fun to watch her growing up and
being able to participate with the older kids.
And I took the girls to a little festival patch place near our house one
day after school.
A fun time of year.
The girls are getting excited for trick-or-treating!

#tbt --- At the Pumpkin Patch

I thought it would be fun to do a #tbt (throw back Thursday) and go back to the first time I took Rebecca to a pumpkin patch.

                                                               Rachel- 5 years old
                                                               Rebecca- almost 7 months old
We went to the same pumpkin patch on Monday.
They were selling "swan gourds". I had never seen these before, strange but pretty too.
Thankful for this sweet little church for hosting a pumpkin patch each October.

Jaemor Farms

Saturday we drove to Alto Georgia to visit Jaemor Farms. The farm grows all sorts of crops, especially peaches, strawberries and pumpkins. In the fall, they have a huge fall festival going on , so we took the girls to check it out.
We started with the petting zoo and duck races.
We tried our best to make it through the gigantic corn maze.
The girls and I were tired and hungry, so we took a short cut out and went for lunch.
We took a hayride on a truck around the farm and then  the girls rode
on the pumpkin train.

There is a huge farmer's market full of foods and sweet treats to buy.
We tried homemade peach ice cream and fried apple pies.
Fun day at the farm!

Five Years Ago....

Five years ago today, I started this little blog of mine.

I really didn't have any idea what I was doing.... still don't.
Just take some pictures and talk about what we have going on in our lives.

I decided to look back and see what I was talking about five years ago.
Pretty much the same things as today-- our family, the girls, school stuff.

The very first "header" on my blog.
The girls were so little!

My first blog entry was about my day with Rebecca and her first taste of green beans.

A few other pictures from the early days..........

Thankfully, my picture taking skills have improved over the years :)
It's been fun to look back and remember.
Glad we have this on-line memory
book of our family and life here in Georgia.

Ama Luna

Yesterday we took the girls to Atlanta to see the latest Cirque du Soleil show. We got there a little early, so we wander through Atlantic Station Central Park and Rebecca found a game to play.

It was Rebecca's first time to see the show and she was excited!
She was amazed and I think overwhelmed by it all. It is a lot to take in.

It is against the rules to take pictures of the show, but we were so close to the
stage, at the very end I snapped a quick picture :)

All of us !

So happy it is Friday!! A few pictures from my phone of what we have been doing lately..........
I went to have lunch with Rebecca last week.
The soccer game on Saturday morning was cold and windy!
Rachel was all bundled up.
Last week at AWANA was parent night in Sparks for Rebecca.
Rebecca saying her Bible verses for the week.
This Wednesday was parent night for Rachel's AWANA.
Raphael spent the evening with her and the class.
Rebecca is learning to read!
Took Rebecca for her yearly appointment with her allergy doctor.
The minions were at church!!
I have been reading the latest Mitford book by Jan Karon.
I love the Mitford books.
The grocery store likes to mix it up- Halloween and Christmas together.
I kept Rebecca home a few days this week. She is battling a sinus infection.
she has to do breathing treatments and antibiotics.
Little Mulberry Park - my favorite park for Sunday morning runs.
