October Fun

Miss Candy Corn and Athena
Friday night we went to Rachel's school for the Halloween dance.
We went for the last hour of the dance and that was plenty. In the past, the dance has been a lot more organized and fun. This year it was total chaos--not fun at all. So we left early.
Rachel and her friend Hillary
Saturday morning we had a nine o'clock soccer game.
It was 35 degrees at game time, so we bundled up and watched the game.
After the game we went home and tried to carve a couple of pumpkins.
Rebecca decided she wanted a cat.
We spent the afternoon at Hebron Church's Fall Festival. We saw lots of our friends and the girls had a great time and brought home a ton of candy!
The cake walk.
Rachel did win two cupcakes!

We have had some beautiful days, sunrises and sunsets lately.

The Pick of the Patch

Each year around Halloween my MOMS Club takes a field trip to a nearby pumpkin patch place. We have never been able to go in the past, but yesterday we finally made it.
First, we took a hayride and then time to pick the pumpkin.
The girls and I counted and so far this fall we have been on four hayrides and we also have four big pumpkins to carve by Halloween.

Warbington Farms

Last year for Christmas, I got my iPhone and I started using it to take pictures because it was so easy. A couple of weeks ago, the new iPhone5 came out and also updates for older phones. So, I updated my phone and ever since I have been having troubles. I take pictures with my phone, but it won't send the photos to our laptop.  We have done some fun stuff over the past couple of weeks, but I haven't been blogging since I don't have the pictures to prove it!

Last night I charged up the battery for our big DSLR camera and today we went on a field trip!

Today was a picture perfect fall day. The girls and I skipped church and drove about an hour to Warbington Farms. It is a family farm with pumpkins, petting zoo, hayrides, etc......

We went on a tractor ride to the cow fields and got to call the cows to come eat dinner.

A favorite of Rebecca's- the corn box.

Birthday Time and Some Other Things

So, another busy weekend for us.
First up, was Rebecca's soccer game at nine in the morning. she did score a goal this game and was very proud of herself!
It was a perfect day and I didn't want to waste it, so I took the girls to Fort Yargo for a fall festival that was going on. We toured through the fort and saw how they lived. The girls played some games and we took a hayride too.
They won the silly glasses and wanted their picture taken.
Rachel was invited to a sleepover birthday party of a classmate. Our schedule was a little crazy for Sunday morning and I am not a big fan of sleepovers, so Rachel stayed until 9p.m. and then came home. I think it worked out fine that way.
I was up way too early to get ready for a race in Atlanta on Sunday morning.
I ran in the Allstate Atlanta Half Marathon. And it was hilly! My goal was to run the race in two hours or less. My time was 2:04:15. So close, yet so far! But much faster than my first half marathon time of 2:18.
Sunday was Raphael's Birthday!!
When I came home, he opened up his gifts and cards.
Rebecca thought he needed a teddy bear :)
After church, we went to Olive Garden for a birthday lunch.
And later we had cake and ice cream.
