Photos from my Phone Friday

I have been the worst at blogging lately, but I hope with both girls in school and not so much running around I will be a better blogger.
Rebecca and I made a trip to Whole Foods and she had her own little buggy to push.
I thought this rainbow Chard was so pretty. Too bad I don't really know how to cook it, or I would have bought some.
I picked some flowers growing in our garden.
I took Rebecca to the lake for the day. She had a great time and we made lots of sandcastles.
Tuesday was "meet and greet" day at preschool. Rebecca is so ready to get back to school.
Saturday night we all went to our friends house for a birthday party.
I took the girls to the park so we could return the tadpoles back to their home.
We played at the park and then went out for lunch.
A trip to Home Depot.
Rebecca and I did a little side walk chalk after dinner the other night.
I am training for another half marathon in October. I bought some new running shoes and I managed to run 15 miles for the first time ever!
And last, but not least--- yesterday was Lola's birthday. We put a candle in a chicken nugget and did sing Happy Birthday to her. She is a sweet little pug.

Photos from my Phone Friday

Well, we have managed to make it through the first week of fourth grade! And I am still trying to sneak in some summertime activities with Rebecca until she starts back to school in a few weeks. We haven't been up to anything too exciting around here lately, so just a few pictures from my phone.

One of the joys of having a fourth grader is that she gets to serenade us with songs from her recorder. I faintly remember learning to play on the recorder in grade school and I did play hot cross buns for Rachel the other day. She and Rebecca, who was playing a kazoo, were marching around the house the other night making noise and having fun.
This is what our walk to the bus stop has looked like everyday this week. Rebecca is slightly obsessed with the grocery buggy, filled with all sorts of treasures and wearing her rain boots. I just think to myself that by next year, she probably wouldn't be caught dead wearing her pjs to the bus stop with rain boots, so I will let her while she wants to.
A few weeks ago, we were at the park with friends and brought home a few tadpoles the girls caught. They are still alive and kicking which surprises me. I told the girls the tadpoles are going back home in a few days.
When Rachel was in Winshape Camp, she took a cooking class. The other day she made pizza rolls  all by herself and cupcakes too.
Sunday after church we went out for lunch at Macaroni Grill.
My book worms at the library.
The girls went to the dentist this week and left with prizes and balloons.

Day Camping

A couple of weeks ago some of my friends wanted to go camping at a nearby campground. We already had plans that couldn't be changed, so the girls and I weren't able to spend the night, but we did go for the day and stay for dinner and smores.
Rebecca was in her summer camp that day, so for a few hours it was just me and Rachel.
We picked up Rebecca and headed back to the lake for more swimming.
I tried to get a picture of all the kids, but it didn't work out too well.
My friend Meredith getting the grill going for us.
                                                                            Isabella and Rebecca.
All us ladies--Nicole, Lisa, Michelle, me and Meredith.
It was fun and a little bit chaotic at times with all the kids running around. It would have been fun to spend the night, but I was glad to go home, take a shower and sleep in my own bed for the night.

First Day of Fourth Grade!!

Summer vacation is officially over and yesterday Rachel headed back to school.
The traditional first day of school photo.

                  The BFFs together again.
        Off they go!
Praying fourth grade is a good year for Rachel.
And next year Rebecca will be getting on the bus too- crazy to think about, so I won't.

Pool Party

Saturday our neighborhood had a pool party to celebrate summer. I volunteered to help out, so the girls and I were there bright and early to help set up.
Rebecca and I were in charge of running the snow cone machine and Rachel had the first one.
                                                                          My little helper!
We had a great DJ there to play music and he organized a bunch of fun games for the kids.
Daniella and Rachel doing what they do best- talking!! They had the best time together.
Rachel was selected to be the Pool Party Princess 2013 and they gave her a lovely crown to wear.
A fun day at the pool with our friends and only we only have three days until school starts!!!!

Mayfield Dairy

The girls and I were in the mood for ice cream the other day, so I decided to take them to the Mayfield Dairy. We hadn't been there for years and we ate some really good ice cream.
On our way out, we went to visit the huge Mayfield cow.
