A Pumpkin Party

This weekend we went to a fun party at a friend's house. Actually, my friend's parents' house- it was only five minutes from where we live, but was on several acres with a barn and lots of room for the kids to run around and play.

Everyone was supposed to bring a carved pumpkin. Rachel really wanted to carve one, until we started the process. All the seeds and the smell changed her mind and I ended up doing all the work!

We ate dinner, played games and even roasted marshmellows with a big ol' bonfire. It was a cold and windy evening, but we had so much fun.

Rebecca doing her favorite activity- eating! She had the best time running around with the older kids. I love that she is old enough to join in the fun.

Just Dance

Last night at Rachel's school it was the annual Fall Dance. For one reason or another, we have never been before, so we went and did a little dancing.  There were a lot of kids there and the girls had a great time. I think Rebecca had more fun than Rachel.  I didn't get a picture of Rebecca dancing, but she looked so cute.

The D.J. for the dances is the best. He is so great with the kids and really gets them out on the floor and having fun. I wish the school dances we had in my school days had a DJ like him.

I saw a lot of great costumes. This little Michael Jackson was impressive and he could dance too!

And finally Rebecca enjoying some candy!

Preschool Parade

Yesterday I went to Rebecca's preschool for a parade. The kids were supposed to dress up like their favorite book character.

Rebecca with her class .The two years olds were fun to watch- they had no idea what was going on. Rebecca was dressed up as Dora, but they didn't let her carry the backpack, so not sure if anyone really knew what she was supposed to be.

After the parade, we had a party in her class. She was very excited to have me there. And life with a two year old is interesting- we went from smiles to crying in about two seconds.

Trunk or Treat

This year for Halloween Rachel wanted to be a cat and I decided to put Rebecca in a Minnie Mouse dress that we already had. Last night we took the girls to a "trunk or treat" party at a church. Before we left I tried to get a few pictures of the girls together.

                                                               Our little cat and mouse.

It was another perfect fall evening and there were a lot of families out. Some of the cars were decorated really cute and unique.  The girls got a ton of candy. Rebecca wasn't quite sure what to think about it all, but she was so happy about all the candy.

Our Weekend

It seems that it is the season for outdoor festivals around town and we are taking advantage of them all. Raphael had studying to do on Saturday, so  the girls and I went to a festival at a nearby church.

The girls each painted a little pumpkin and played a bunch of games. And we went on our fifth hayride of the fall.

And some pictures Raphael got of the girls playing out in the yard.

Sunday after church Rachel and I went to a friends house to make some Halloween cake pop kind of treats. Our cakepops were made out of crushed Oreos and mixed with cream cheese- they tasted really good!

The girls watched a the Charlie Brown pumpkin movie and then played outside for awhile. Rachel had a great time with her friends.

And this morning, Rebecca and I went to Costco for a big shopping trip. I am always nervous about how Rebecca will behave, but today she was so good! And I had to get her out of the buggy and walk because we needed more room in the cart. I am so thankful she is getting closer to three years and has a bit more self control and patience. We ate some frozen yogurt before we went home.

Rebecca is sick again! She has a cold and it looks like she will be staying home from preschool tomorrow. I am hoping that she feels better by Thursday for her costume party at preschool on Thursday.
