Memorial Day Weekend

This morning we took the girls to our town's Memorial Day parade.

This little girl was next to us- she looked so cute in her outfit and I thought the sign was pretty clever.

Sunday after church we had a few friends over for a party.

Veronica, Gregg, Raphael, Carlos and Jose- playing dominoes.

Rachel made a new friend- Fabby.

So Long First Grade!

Yesterday was Rachel's last day of first grade! I can't believe how fast the school year went by!  She has had a great year in 1st grade and loved her teacher and learned alot.

There was an award ceremony at school for the students and Rachel received two- Principals and Citizens Award. She was very proud of herself. I took Rebecca to daycare so I could go and see Rachel at school.

After school we celebrated with a Little Debbie's Chocolate Cupcake. And then after dinner Rachel was invited to her AWANA group for a movie and popcorn party. We are looking forward to summer vacation!

Playgroup Friends

This morning, Rebecca and I hosted playgroup. It was our last get together until school starts back up in the fall.  I have had this "celebrate" banner forever, so I put it up for the group.  As soon as Rebecca saw it, she kept saying "party!" and asking for cake. She knows that for birthdays in our house, I put up the happy birthday banner and ballooons- smart girl!

We let the kids play and had some snacks. Made a big mess with playdough and tried to get a group photo of all the kids-ha! Didn't quite succeed, but we did our best. We have a big group- including a set of triplets and a set of twins!

I have been a playgroup since Rachel was little and love getting to know other moms. Rebecca and I have had fun times meeting up with friends each week.  Rebecca is going to preschool next fall, so this might be it for us and playgroup.

Girls Weekend

The past four days I have been in Minnesota visiting my friend, Gerri Ann.  Gerri lives in MN and I went to see her because we spent Friday night and Saturday morning at a Beth Moore Living Proof Conference!

Last time I saw Gerri was two years ago when we went to a Beth Moore Conference. We both love her Bible studies and it was so wonderful to see Beth in person. She is funny and can really preach. Beth gave us all a lot to think and pray about.

We went with two other ladies- Karri and Sarah.  There were over 4,ooo ladies attending and we ended up sitting way up in the balcony, so the pictures I took were not very good.  And I was not very good at getting out the camera and taking pictures this weekend.

Gerri was able to go back stage and meet Beth after the conference and get a hug & picture with her!
It was a great time and I am so thankful for my husband taking time off from work to stay home and take care of the girls so that I could visit my friends.

AWANA Award Night

Rachel has been in AWANA at a nearby church for three years and this was the first year that she finished her workbook! So she got to go to the "award ceremony".  It was cute and the kids were excited, but it was a looooong forty five minutes.

The lighting in the chapel was horrible for taking pictures and I was sitting way in the back so I didn't get any good shots of Rachel getting her ribbons. Afterwards, she posed  with her awards and we went to Dariy Queen to celebrate.

The count down is happening for the last day of school- only seven days left!

Park Day

Rebecca's playgroup met at the park the other day. We love going to this park because most of it is in the shade! Makes for alot more fun when the slides are burning up hot.  Rebecca and her friends had a great time.

Some of  the equipment is the old-fashioned metal. Brings back lots of memories of the park where I played growing up. I spent lots of time on a merry-go-round like this one.

A picture of the girls in the same outfit--now and then.

Pick Me !

It is strawberry season here, so last Saturday we took the girls to a nearby U-Pick farm and picked two buckets full of strawberries.   I was a little bit worried how Rebecca would do, but she did great!

After a long and fun day Rebecca wins the prize for the messiest shirt!
