Spring has Sprung!!

The weather here is really starting to feel like spring!! It is supposed to be in the 80's this weekend!!
Yay! I was just about done in by all the cold weather we had this winter.

I drive down this road by our house everyday and I have always thought these trees were so pretty. I don't know what type of tree they are,but many neighborhoods have them and they have been blooming for a few weeks.  I wanted a picture, so yesterday I parked my car in a neighborhood and walked for awhile. The street is pretty busy and I am sure that people driving by must of thought I was a crazy lady.  The trees are beautiful in real life- picture doesn't do them justice.

The bulbs that we planted at.the.very.last.minute. this past fall are pushing through the soil and the crocuses are blooming!

I am looking forward to a warm weekend!  Raphael has to study, so I am thinking the girls and I will venture out and enjoy the spring weather!

St. Patrick's Day

We have had a pretty uneventful St. Patrick's Day. I tried getting the girls together for a picture, but Rebecca kept wanting to give "hugs"- so this is the best I could get.

Yesterday after school Rachel made her leperchaun trap.  The sneaky little guy took the gold coins that Rachel put inside the trap and left her some donuts for a breakfast treat.

I put Rebecca's hair in a ponytail this morning.  I thought it looked so cute.

I can't believe she will be two in a few weeks- oh where does the time go?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

aDORAble

Since this past summer, Rebecca has been quite taken with Dora the Explorer and all her little friends.  Rachel went through this phase too, but I don't remember it lasting as long.

We read ALOT of Dora books at our house.

And Rebecca has Dora pajamas that she would wear every single night if I would let her.

She got this balloon at the fair this summer and still carries it around the house.

With her Dora purse that usually has little Dora, Benny, Tico and Diego tucked inside.

For Christmas we bought her a Dora pop-up tent. She loves it!  And usually has Dora and Boots inside to keep her company.

Guess the girl knows what she likes!

Play Date

This morning Rebecca and I met up with her playgroup friends for a morning out.  We usually meet at each other's houses, but decided to try and go somewhere with our almost two year old kids.

We decided on Chuck E Cheese. The good part-- the place was empty!  We were the only people there and since Rebecca doesn't really understand how to play the games, I only bought a few dollars worth of tokens.

The bad part--Rebecca had a MAJOR meltdown.  She kept going to the toy display case and asking for everything. It was not pretty. I tried to distract her, but it wasn't working too well. Here she is in all her glory!

I went and played a few games to get some tickets and bought her some smarties.  The candy and a cupcake from my friend, finally got her calmed down.

And then she decided to play in the playground/ tunnel thing they have. She has been in it before with Rachel. But this time she was in there alone and managed to get lost, so I climbed up there and pulled her down.

After that she was fairly content to wander around and look at the games. She was the happiest putting the tickets inside the token return slot.  I think we won't be back to see Chuck E anytime soon!

Miscellaneous

We had a good and quiet weekend.  It was rainy and cold, so we stayed inside and I did my best to keep the girls entertained.  We did some watercolor painting and play-doh.  Rebecca had fun with the paints. Just a few random pictures of Rebecca.

Rebecca kept painting her face!

Rachel and I went to the library on Saturday and I saw this book and we had to check it out!
The pug inside looks just like our Lola.

Free Fun

A new Kroger grocery store opened up here last week.  I haven't been in to check it out yet, but Raphael went on opening day and brought home some Kroger balloons that they were giving away.

Rebecca played with the balloon for quite awhile!  I think it is the most she has been entertained and focused for a long time.
