Play Day and a Fish Fieldtrip

The weather around here has been iffy lately- a bunch of clouds, maybe some rain and possibly a few rays of sunshine. It makes it hard to figure out what to do and where to go with such unpredictable weather. We were desperate to get out of the house and go somewhere, so we went to one of our favorite parks- Pringle Park. The entire playground is covered, so rain or shine it is a great place for the girls to play.
We started going to this park when Rebecca was a eighteen months old. Now she can climb to the very top of the rope structure. She was so proud of herself for keeping up with her big sister!
A couple miles from the park is the fish hatchery and we have never been there, so I decided to take the girls for a visit. It is free to walk around and see all the fish. So many fish, some tiny as my finger and others as long as my arm.
There was a park worker out checking on the fish, so he gave us a little tour and some fish food for the girls to feed the fish. They only have trout at the hatchery and by end of summer, he said they can have close to half a million fish.

The girls weren't quite sure what to think and they were a little cautious at first because each tank has an electric fence around it. The park worker said the fences are only on at night to keep big birds from flying in and eating all the fish!

A storm was rolling in and it was starting to rain, so we had to head back home. It was an interesting little field trip and I would like to go back again some time.
