This week Rachel, finished her days in elementary school. And I can't
quite believe it. The time has gone by way too fast. The saying is right--
"the days maybe long, but the years are short".
Rachel and Mrs. Anderson in Kindergarten!!
Tuesday all the 5th graders had a big good-bye
party in the morning and then in the afternoon they "walked the halls".
All the students, teachers, staff and parents line the halls of the school and the
5th graders walk through and say good-bye.
Rachel and her friend Gabby.
Wednesday morning the fifth grade class had their graduation ceremony.
They filed in, the principal and vice principal both spoke for a minute. They
had a magician put on a show and give a little motivational speech.
All the students went on stage to sing a couple of songs. Rachel had been
chosen to play an instrument - the xylophone :) Of course, she ended up
sitting right behind the podium, so not the best picture.
Receiving her certificate and a graduation medal.
Rachel and some of her classmates.
Excited to be finished with elementary school!
I went to school to see Rebecca at her class party and from there we
all went out to lunch at Macaroni Grill to celebrate.
It was a big day for Rachel. She has done so well in grade school and
we are proud of her. She is growing up quickly and is looking forward to
going to middle school next year.
The 5th grade class president spoke at graduation and shared this verse:
" Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set
an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12
