Home Run Life

A few months ago, the pastor at our church, published a book called The Homerun Life.  Our church did a bunch of fun activities when the book came out- there were batting cages, popcorn and bubblegum handed out, and they had a chance to win tickets to an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Each family had one chance to enter. We usually attend the one o'clock service and we won tickets!
The baseball game was this past Friday. It was Rebecca's first visit to Turner Field and Rachel's second time at the game. It was a beautiful night and we had a fun time.
                                                           Sitting with Daddy.
The Braves won the game (barely) and we stayed for Friday night fireworks. The fireworks were so pretty, but none of my pictures turned out. By the time we got home, it was after midnight. Thankful to our church for providing us with a wonderful family night out.

I woke up this morning to run and this on my phone. An all red screen is not a good sign. The weathermen have been warning us about two nasty storms coming our way with an extreme potential for tornados and damaging winds with hail. I did a lot of praying on the treadmill. We love living in the South, but the downside is being in tornado country. Praying God's protection and peace for all the families affected in Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.

Photos from my Phone Friday

Some pictures from  the past few weeks.....

Rebecca found an old DVD we have with Bible songs on it. We have been watching it a lot around our house and it makes me laugh how Rebecca sings along.

Rebecca has been wanting the Hungry, hungry Hippo game for the longest time. I finally broke down and bought it for her. She loves it, but it is SO loud.
I noticed a few weeks ago that our washer was leaking water. We have a front loader and the big rubber circle in the front had worn out. Raphael was Mr. Fix-it and replaced it all by himself!

Queen Rebecca
At preschool Rebecca has been learning the letters of the alphabet. Last week they had a special day--
" Queens and Quarterbacks". All the girls came dressed as queens and the boys as quarterbacks. They had a pretend wedding where the letter Q got married to U. I thought it was pretty clever!
This morning at school was Muffins and Moms.
And this afternoon, I took Rebecca to register her for kindergarten!!!
Not sure how it is possible for her to be old enough to go to elementary school??
She was very excited and did great in the little "interview" she had with a kindergarten teacher.
My baby is growing up!
But we still have a couple weeks of preschool left, so trying to enjoy the days.

Easter Weekend 2014

We had a good weekend and were busy with a bunch of different activities. Saturday was rainy and windy, so Rebecca's soccer game was cancelled. She was a little sad, because it was her turn to bring snacks for the team. We stayed home and dyed Easter eggs and did some work around the house.
Saturday night, Rebecca and I went to a birthday party at the YMCA.
It was a swimming party for her friend Carter. I counted twelve boys and then there was Rebecca. She had a fun time and wore herself out swimming.
Raphael and Rachel went to a party at Carlos and Veronica's house.

Sunday morning Rebecca woke us all up and they searched for eggs and Easter baskets. Next year, I am going to have to hide the eggs better, they found most of the eggs in about two seconds.
Rachel went back to bed and I went for a run.
We got ready for church and I tried to take a few pictures of the girls.

Church!

After church we ate the usual Easter dinner and took a couple of family photos.
We took the girls to see the movie Rio2 and then time for bed!

A Trip to Minnesota

Last weekend I flew to Minnesota to visit my friend Gerri Ann.
Months ago, we made plans to listen to Beth Moore speak at a Living Proof  Live Conference in Minneapolis. It had been three years, since I had seen Gerri Ann and it was a fun and relaxing weekend. We slept in, ate out, went shopping, talked a lot and listened to Beth.
Me, Gerri Ann and Lexi

We went to see The Little Mermaid at a dinner theater in Channhassen.
It was a fun night out.
Friday afternoon we went out to eat at Fogo de Chao. It is a restaurant that serves Brazilian style meats and an amazing salad bar. The food was so good and then we went to an old time Norwegian store to shop for a wedding gift.
The Living Proof conference started Friday night and then finished up on Saturday afternoon. It was my third time to a Beth Moore conference and she never disappoints.

After the conference we went to eat at Punches Pizza and then I had my first visit to The Mall of America. I was overwhelmed by it all. The biggest mall I have ever been to. I could have shopped for days. And there is an amusement park in the middle and an aquarium.
Me, Carrie and Gerri Ann.
We had to stop for an ice cream.

And then it was time to go home.
So thankful I was able to sneak away for a few days to reconnect with my friends.

Mishmash

We are officially on Spring Break and I am so grateful for a few days off from our crazy schedule.

The girls have had some events this past week, so thought I would share about them before the time gets away from me.

The children's choir that Rachel sings in had their spring show last Sunday.
It was called " I AM".
The kids did a great job singing and the Rachel loved this part with the glow-in-the- dark sticks.
Rebecca's spring concert for preschool was this past Wednesday.
The past two years, she had missed it because she was sick.
On Wednesday she was coughing and had little runny nose, but I sent her to school anyways.
It is her last year of preschool and I wanted her to make it to at least one of the concerts.
They did great and I love watching all the kids.
Rachel was home from school with an upset stomach, so she came a long and Rebecca was so excited to have her sister there. ( doesn't she look excited)
After the singing we went to Rebecca's school room and had a little party.
The teacher made the cutest little plates with each child's handprint.

Checking her hearing.
Friday morning, Rebecca had her five year checkup.
Rebecca passed all the tests and came in average height and above average
for her weight ( takes after her mom :)

She did not care for the lovely paper gown.
We got all the paperwork needed for Kindergarten registration in a few weeks!!

Rebecca and I have been working on making this rainbow pillow.
Her friend, Reynolds, gave it to her for her birthday and she was thrilled to have it finished.
