Friday Photo

This was right after Rebecca had woken up this morning and has some serious bedhead going on. Thankfully her hair is covering up yet another bruise on her forehead. The poor thing has had a bruise on her face for almost a month. Sometimes I think she needs to wear a helmet-ha!

The weather dropped about twenty degrees in the past few days and so I broke out the footie pajamas.
When Rebecca saw them last night after her bath she was excited and said " look Mom pajamas with shoes!" It was the cutest thing ever. Rachel and I were laughing and tried to correct her, but she wasn't changing her mind.

Yesterday I had just dropped off Rebecca at preschool and was enjoying my alone time at Target when Rachel's school called. She wasn't feeling well and wanted to go home. So I didn't get my errands done and that meant today Rebecca and I ventured out for awhile. We went to JCPennys to pick up something I had ordered. And we saw and talked to Santa Claus. Rebecca wasn't sure what to think of Santa and wanted me to hold her, but she did talk to him a little. I should have taken a picture but thought of it too late.

Rebecca's outfit of the day. They don't show well but she has on the cutest boots! They were Rachel's and I love them. I wish I had bought some in every size.

And I have to mention that I am proud of myself- as of October 14, I have been blogging for two years! I never thought I would last this long, but am glad I have. This blog is a great way to keep track of memories for our family.

Singing in the Rain

This morning I had Bible study at church. Late yesterday the rain and wind moved into Georgia, so Rebecca wanted to take her Dora umbrella and rain boots to church. I thought she looked cute and she did a good job at keeping herself dry.

I had to take Rebecca to the doctor Monday morning because she had the worst diaper rash due to some ongoing digestive troubles. The poor thing was feeling miserable and complained whenever I picked her up.  The medicine from the doctor seems to be helping. We have been  to the doctor four times in three weeks- hoping we don't have any more illnesses for a long time!

Two years old is a trying age, but Rebecca is so entertaining and smart lately. She has started singing songs from preschool for me. It is cute to hear her little voice- she likes "this little light of mine" and "thank you Father".  She seems to be growing up way too fast!

Fall Family Fun

We were out and about this weekend enjoying the beautiful weather. On Saturday we took the girls to a local park for a fall festival/carnival kind of event.

We spent  time at the bounce houses,  the playground, Rachel won a cake in the cakewalk, took a hayride and the girls did a few games.
Rebecca had her first taste of cotton candy and loved it!
We stopped at the face painting station. The girl painting was not the best and Rachel's looked really bad. So it came off pretty quick.

On Sunday Raphael and I went to see the Atlanta Falcons play some football. It was our first time going to the Georgia Dome and was fun. And the Falcons won the game!

After the game we went out for an early dinner at Raphael's favorite restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory, and then it was time to go home.

A Peek at Our Week

We had a busy week. Both of the girls were not feeling too well and Raphael was out of town, so by the end of each day I was too tired to blog. So here is a little bit of what we have been up to.....

The balloons from Raphael's birthday are starting to lose helium. The girls have spent hours playing with them around the house.

Rachel was still sick, so Wednesday morning we made another trip to the doctor. I had both of the girls and Rebecca was very energetic while we were there. By the time we left, I was ready for a nap!

It was pajama night at AWANA.

Most nights we have a few toads that appear and hang out in the driveway looking for bugs. The girls love watching them and this week we caught a little one and held him for a bit.

Thursday night was "fine art" night at school. All the kids sing and then parents have a chance to buy a pciture made by their child. Rachel's picture this year was labled "snack bar" .

And then today Rachel had her first report card of the year and a ceremony at school this morning.
She made all A's at school! She received the honor roll award and then won the good citizen award for her class. So proud of her!

Getting her award from the new principal at her school.

After school we celebrated with some yogurt at FroYo.

And that was our week!
The weekend weather looks perfect and I hope we can get out enjoy it.

Fall Festival

This afternoon we went to my MOMS club annual fall festival. This year we went to my friend's Meredith house. She lives out in the country and we had planned to play outside, but the rain and wind arrived today. So we had to party inside instead and still had a good time. I was busy keeping track of the girls and talking with my friends, so didn't take many pictures, but here are a few ---

Rebecca doing some arts and crafts.

Catie playing the pumpkin-candy toss game.

Catie's little brother- R.J.

The kids had a contest to wrap each other in toilet paper and make a mummy.

After the party we headed home for dinner and bath. Both of the girls are still not feeling well and I wanted to get them to bed sooner than later.

Apple Jubilee

For the past two years we have taken the girls to an apple orchard in the Georgia mountains. You can see our past adventures here . Since Raphael is out of town and I need to keep the girls busy I decided it would be a good day to visit.

I love seeing how excited Rebecca gets about being out and about and having fun at activities. At times like these I can see just how much she has grown and how independent she is.

A few photos from the rest of the day.......

Rebecca is still too little to reach the petals on the john deere bikes, but didn't want me to help her. She figured out how to move the bike by herself.

The petting farm is Rachel's favorite spot. We probably spent an hour in there. Rebecca is getting alot braver with the animals.

They have trained the goats to climb way up high onto a platform and use their teeth to pull up a cup with food in it. It is the silliest thing to see those goats, but very entertaining.

Rebecca loved playing in the tepee. The picture below is from last year's visit.

Rachel tried out the go-karts. She did a good job at keeping up with the boys! She was the only girl out there and a bit of a crazy driver. After the go-karts we were done for the day and headed home.
