Christmas Vacation 2015

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and it was extra special because we got to celebrate with
my parents. Last time we were all together for Christmas, we only had Rachel !  We went to Christmas Eve church and then to my parents for dinner and opening some gifts.

We kept track of Santa's location and the girls left cookies and milk for him. Rebecca and I also left out a little cheese, for Santa Mouse :)
Christmas morning, the calm before the storm!
My parents came over for lunch and there was a little more gift opening.
We ate a lot of good food, had friends come over to join us, played games, took naps and watched movies. It was a good day!
Figuring out all the new and exciting toys.
More friends, playdates, food and games. We have been trying to take it slow and enjoy the time off from school.
                                                          Another visit to the doctor.
                                                                   #aknightatthemuseum
We spent the afternoon visiting the High Museum of Art in Midtown.  Right now they have exhibits about the Habsburgs dynasty from Austria and a fashion exhibit with some very interesting outfits.

Life Lately

Once again, I am way behind on this blogging thing :)

The girls are officially on Christmas vacation and it has been nice to have more relaxing days. Just a few pictures to remember what we have been doing the past few days.......................
December 1st, Jack, our Elf on the Shelf came back to visit.
We started December with Christmas lunch at school with Rebecca. She was so excited to have her
grandparents there this year!
We all went to Christmas on the Corner at church. I ran in a 5k race before
the festivities started and placed second in my age group :)
I hosted my MOMS Club Christmas party and the girls helped me test out
the photo props before all the ladies arrived.
Heather and Meredith -- one of the only pics I took at the party.
While Rachel is at tennis camp, Rebecca and I visited the mall for
hot chocolate and took a look at the big Christmas tree.
Our house with some Christmas décor.
I went to lunch with friends at TOM + CHEE that specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches!
It was so good, I love grilled cheese.
Christmas party time at school !
We left the girls with a sitter and went with my parents to Atlanta
to see the new Star Wars movie and took in all the Christmas time
spirit at Atlantic Station.
While everyone was sleeping, Rebecca and I watched White Christmas.
We liked it and Rebecca seems to enjoy a musical.
Waiting for the Swedish angels to start spinning. It didn't work, so we
gave up. Later, Raphael helped and it worked out. We just need to be more
patient :)
We have been baking up a storm- gingerbread, chocolate chip, and
sugar cookies for Santa.
Rebecca has been coughing and was to the doctor, but not getting better.
So today they took an xray to check for pneumonia, but there was none.
So new meds and hopefully, she will feel better soon.
Nana and Papa came over to help decorate cookies for Santa.

Christmas is only two days away!!

Garden Lights

We tried something new this year and took a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to see the Holiday Garden Lights.  They light up the gardens with millions of Christmas lights and it is beautiful.
A tunnel of lights to the Lady waterfall.
It was a perfect night to go and we weren't the only people who had the same idea. We had to battle through the crowds and it was a little crazy some times, but it was so pretty to see and enjoy.
These shapes were throughout the big lawn area and changed color as the music played. It was really neat to watch.
We wandered around --there were trains, Christmas carolers, fire pits for roasting marshmellows.
                                                                 Beautiful night at the Gardens!

Thanksgiving 2015

We had a nice Thanksgiving vacation. It was good to be home and be able to sleep in! The girls and I kept up the tradition of watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, complete with popcorn, jellybeans, pretzels ( no toast this year).
We played a lot of board games.
On Thanksgiving, we had a relaxing morning and watched the Macys Thanksgiving parade, played games and waited for the turkey to cook.
We put up a few Christmas trees, went shopping on black Friday and more games.
It was a good holiday and  we are so thankful that Perla was here for a visit. Now we are focused on Christmas-- only 24 days away !!!
