It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas.....

This past Saturday night we took a drive out to Lake Lanier to see the Christmas lights. The displays were pretty and the girls loved looking at all the lights.

the reason for the season!

We got there a little early so we went to the area with shopping, food and rides.  Of course, Rachel needed to try out some rides and Rebecca had her first time on the carousel with her Nana and Papa.

A little marshmellow roasting with Papa.

We put up the Christmas tree a little early this year, so my Mom could help me decorate it with the girls. It went pretty well, considering we had a little "helper" this year.

Rachel likes to put all the ornaments in a row. I had to go back later and "reorganize" them a little bit. I can be a little OCD when it comes to things like this-ha!

Checkin' out the ornaments.

The girls each got to open up a present from my parents. Rachel was happy with her pillow pet and Rebecca wasn't quite sure about Elmo at first, but warmed up to him after awhile.

We are so grateful for my parents visit and we had a wonderful time! We made lots of memories and are missing them already!

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We are thankful for our family, friends, Raphael's new job, our great church, two healthy and happy little girls

My Dad read from Psalm 100 for our Thanksgiving prayer--

" Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and praise his name.

 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations."

Date Night and the Zoo

Sunday afternoon Raphael and I went downtown for some time by ourselves while my parents kept the girls!
For Raphael's birthday this year, I bought him a helicopter ride over Atlanta, so we went for a ride.  I was a bit nervous and saying lots of prayers before liftoff, but then I loved it.

there is our helicopter!

the sun was setting just as we took off

After the helicopter ride we went for dinner and then a walk around downtown and finished the night with a carriage ride. It was wonderful spending time together!

Monday morning we went to the zoo. We hadn't been for awhile and the weather was perfect for an outing, so we took the girls .

Rebecca chilling out with the flamingos. It was her first trip to the zoo and she loved looking at the animals and running around. She would wave at other little kids and say "bye-bye" to them--too cute.

Sisters!

Love the panda bears

We had a fun day at the zoo.

Saturday

My parents arrived Thursday night for a Thanksgiving visit!  Rachel and Rebecca are very excited to have their "Nana and Papa" here for a visit.  We are trying to stay busy and have been a few outings so far.

On Saturday afternoon we went downtown to see Cirque De Soleil show "OVO".
My parents have never been to a show and I thought they would really enjoy it.

Before the show

The show did not disappoint! It was incredible as always and we had the great time. After the show we went out for dinner at Ted's Montana Grill.

Me and my Dad after dinner!

A Visit to the Doctor

About a month ago, Rebecca ate a biscuit with peanut butter and within a few minutes she had a rash, itchy eyes and was making weird noises.  So I quick gave her some Benadryl and she was better pretty quickly.

So at her eighteen month checkup a few weeks ago, I mentioned it to her doctor and he recommended a visit to the allergy doctor. This morning was her visit- lots of little pokes on her back and then to the lab for a blood draw- bless her little heart.

At the doctor this morning- she had to be shirtless for about 15 minutes. She and a little boy across the hall ran around together and harassed the nurses!  The skin test came back positive for peanut allergy and the blood test will show the level of severity.

I had been praying that she wouldn't be allergic, but guess it is not meant to be. The other mom there today gave me lots of helpful hints- her little boy is allergic to everything- so I know it could be alot worse. I am just thankful to know for sure  and we will carry on!

Rainy Days and Mondays.....

We are having a very rainy Monday today! Not a whole lot going on around here today.  Rebecca and I made a quick trip to Walmart this morning.  Lately, I dread going shopping with Rebecca- she wants to be out of the cart and wandering the aisles. She did pretty good today and then home for a nap!

A pciture from a sunny day this summer!

While Rebecca napped, I cleaned and organized- getting ready for my parents to come and visit!
Rachel is getting excited for her grandparents to arrive. She is marking off the days on her calendar.

That's it for now. Happy Monday!

Today

Today Rachel was back to school!  She was out early for parent-teacher conferences.  I met with her teacher and it seems Rachel is doing well at school so far this year.

Rachel is feeling alot better, but still gets tired easily and isn't quite back to her normal self yet.

Over the past few days, Rebecca has discovered Ranch salad dressing and ketchup.  She loves Ranch! She asks for "more-more" .  It is interesting to me to see the differences in the girls and what they will eat. I am very thankful that Rebecca is not a picky eater like her big sister.

This picture makes me laugh- anytime that Rebecca is eating- there is Lola waiting patiently to eat up any food that Rebecca might drop.

Georgia on my Mind

It has been forever since I listed all the random thoughts on my mind. It has been a crazy day and I feel like I should write some things down and maybe it will help me get my act together for tomorrow-ha!

We had a good weekend. Didn't do anything special, which was kind of nice. I did go to Mimi's with a bunch of friends to celebrate a 30th birthday. It was fun, but made me feel really old.The food was amazing and I ate waaaay too much.  Church was good as usual- love our church.

Rebecca is growing up way too fast. It amazes me everyday how smart a little toddler is. She is like a parrot-repeats everything we say.  I love the way she says "thank you". And today she said "lovebug" in the car and there was actually a Volkswagon Beetle car right next to us! She has eight teeth that I can see coming through. Lately, Rebecca wants to kiss anything and everything- and she makes the kissing "sound" more than she actually kisses. Too funny.

I heard a Christmas song on the radio today. Hard to believe Christmas is about seven weeks away. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving! My parents are coming to visit and we should have lots of fun.  I have many a project to accomplish before they get here and it isn't looking too good right now.

I bought these pajamas for the girls a long time ago. Bought them at separate times and different stores- yet they both have rabbit, and pink polka-dots on them.  I have been wanting to get a photo of the girls together for a long time and finally did tonight.

Rachel and I visited the ER today- she had an asthma attack early in the morning that didn't want to go away. So I took her in and they fixed her up.  When we got to the hospital, we were the only people in the ER! So thankful we didn't have to wait and Rachel was very brave and came home feeling better. She is still wheezing and seems to get short of breath easily, so tomorrow we go to the pediatrician for a recheck. Praying tonight she sleeps well and wakes up feeling like a new six year old.

I am going to miss my MOPS meeting for the third time in a row tomorrow. I wonder if they will kick me out for poor attendance? Our house is messy and I have tons of laundry to do. I planted pansies and fall cabbages for the backyard patio, but keep forgetting to water them-probably dead by now.  We almost had to buy a new dishwasher this weekend, but Raphael managed to fix ours! Saved us some big bucks, instead we get to buy new tires for my car. Rachel traded most of her Halloween candy for money- she is now $13 dollars richer. And I now have a lot of candy to eat while I sit and watch the Biggest Loser.

I hear the little one crying, so better go!

Playtime at Gymboree

A few month ago, I bought a membership at Gymboree Play & Music for Rebecca.  Her class meets every Friday morning and the teacher does her best to handle about fifteen little kids. All the kids run around and pretty much do whatever catches their eye.  Rebecca usually finds one slide or climber and wants to spend the entire time playing on it.

Today's "lesson" was all about "stop & go".

She LOVES crawling through the tunnels

At the end of each class the teacher blows tons of tiny bubbles for the kids. It's pretty cute to sit and watch them all try to catch the bubbles.

Happy weekend!
