Photo a Day- July

I followed along with Fatmumslim again this month, for her idea of taking a specific picture each day of the month. I did pretty well this time, but did forget a day or two.

Photos from my phone Friday

*****I typed this post on Friday morning, but it looks like I forgot to push the "publish" button, so here it is now instead :)  *****

Our summer is winding down. Next week I take Rachel to school to meet her teacher and drop off school supplies. So, I am trying my best to fit in as much fun as possible in these last few days. A few pictures of what we have been up to lately........
Rachel likes to check out the lobsters at the grocery store.
The girls and I were at Costco and we stopped for lunch. We were playing around with a new app on my phone that has all sorts of mustaches to add to a photo.
I went running at a new park. I tried some trail running and got to run across this pretty bridge.
We met some friends at the baseball game. I am not sure what the girls were trying to do here?
                             Rachel said hi to Chopper.
Both the girls were looking cute with their pink sunglasses.
Rebecca was thrilled to have her picture taken!
     At the pool.
      I love these tutu swimsuits.

That's it. Happy Friday!!

My Room Rocks

Sometimes I feel like the theme around our house is "better late than never". Rachel had her ninth birthday a month and a half ago, and we finally had a birthday party with her friends this weekend!
Rachel still spends hours playing with her Barbie dolls, Littlest Pet Shops, etc.... so she decided to have her party at a place in the mall called My Room Rocks. Basically, each girl gets an empty box to decorate however she likes and fill it with doll furniture.
The girls "shopping" for accessories to decorate their rooms.
Rebecca was there and she did great. Her room looks cute and I think she had a fun time.
                                                                   Rachel's room before and after.
                                                                    Daniella, Sydney and Rachel
                                                                           Cupcake time!
We were celebrating Rachel's birthday, but it happened that Daniella's birthday was last Thursday and Sydney's birthday is this coming week, so each girl wanted a candle for her cupcake.
                                                                           Best Friends!!!

Happy Camper

Rachel spent her week at Winshape Camp and had a great time.
Yesterday was Family Fun Day. All parents were invited to join their camper and see what the kids had been doing all week. Rachel had three sessions- painting, yard games and fast food.
They start the kids off in the parking lot playing all sorts of games while everyone checks in.
Rachel's best friend Danielle came to camp this summer!
Rachel and her Safari flag.
The kids are divided into three large groups- Alpine, Ocean and Safari. And then broken down into smaller groups- Rachel was in the elephant group.
This was in Town Square, where kids find their session leaders.
Rachel started in painting.
I didn't take a good picture, but "Guarding your Heart" was the theme of the week. Each day they learned a new Bible verse and a saying to remember.

Yard games was next. They learned lots of games all week and ended with croquet.
Parents got to play. It was fun, but soooo hot and humid. Rachel and I did pretty well, and now she wants to buy a croquet set for the backyard.
Last session was fast food. Rachel learned some basic cooking skills and on the final day there was a contest. They held an Iron Chef cooking contest- five minutes to make a snack for three judges and a had to use a "surprise ingredient".
Rachel's snack was "Ants on a log". And she added mini chocolate chips too. Luckily, the secret ingredient was honey, so it worked out fine for her.
The competition was friendly and a cute little boy won with yogurt stuffed strawberries. It was fun to see the kids working so fast and furious on their snacks.
                                                                          A fun week camp!
